FAQ's
What happens if my activity gets cancelled?
Did you know that it is program policy to cancel classes one week prior to the start date if there are not enough registrations? If it is necessary for CLSA to cancel a program, you will be notified prior to the program start date. In this situation, refunds or credits will be issued to your account. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrolment, extreme weather, instructor unavailability, and facility maintenance. Generally, no refunds or credits are given for programs, paddle sports, instructed activities, presentations, or Fitness Centre registrations unless cancelled by CLSA.
How do I join paddle sports or instructed activities?
You will first have to purchase a CLSA Annual Membership. See our Membership page for eligibility details. Each group has different operational times throughout the year. To stay up to date on sports or activities, refer to our current Catalogue for dates, times, fees, and registration barcodes. Once you have purchased your CLSA membership, you can register in any sport or uninstructed activity, provided it is not at capacity.
Why is there a registration fee and dues?
The registration fee is a consolidated price set out by the CLSA to cover room and/or amenity use as well as administration fees. We pride ourselves on offering amenities and rooms at prices you can not find at other facilities around the city. Dues are a separate amount, unique to each activity or sport and are determined by the sport or activity coordinator to cover the cost of supplies and items specific to the sport or activity.
What if I just want to try out an activity?
** Previews are temporarily suspended due to COVID-19**
All interested individuals have the opportunity to preview an activity for a day. Some activities offer the option of paid drop-ins. Fees range from $5–$10 per drop-in. If you are dropping in, you must have an active CLSA membership.
